SA United
- Salvation Army Football Team
Boscombe Salvation Army is fortunate enough to have its own football team, SA United, which competes most weeks home and away in the 2nd Division of the South Wessex Evangelical Alliance Football League.
The team consists of players from the Corps here at Boscombe, and others associated with the Corps, some being friends or relations of Corps attendees and others being work colleagues.
After seasons of varying degrees of success including promotion to the top tier in the 2006/2007 season, and also winning 'The SWEA League Plate' against Blandford in March 2008. SA United, were unfortunately relegated to the 2nd Division after 3 seasons in the top division in the 2009/2010 season. However, with a new home ground and a new kit, (which Boscombe Corps has kindly sponsored) being organised for the 2011/2012 season, the club can only look to be moving up and competing for a place back in Division 1.
SA United strive to represent the Corps when playing, with the knowledge of the corps mission statement, To Know Christ - To Live Christ - To Share Christ - they hope that when playing other teams within the league that this can be recognised.
